What to check before you buy overland trailers
- Check the tow rating of your vehicle against the trailer's loaded weight, not its dry weight.
- Inspect the frame welds, axle, hitch and brakes, and ask when the bearings were last repacked.
- Make sure the title or registration matches the seller and the VIN plate on the trailer.
- Look for water stains inside, especially around seams, vents and the floor edges.
