1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Rig Patrol (the "Service"). By creating an account, browsing listings, publishing a listing, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

To create an account you must check the box confirming that you have read and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. Without it, an account can't be created. We keep a record of the date and time you agreed.

2. What Rig Patrol Is

Rig Patrol is an online classifieds marketplace where people can list and browse adventure vehicles, campers, trailers, and gear. We provide the platform that connects buyers and sellers; we are not a party to any sale, do not take possession of or inspect any vehicle, and do not process payments between buyers and sellers.

All buying and selling happens directly between users. You are solely responsible for negotiating, inspecting, paying for, arranging transport of, and completing any transaction.

Listings and messages are created by users, not by us. Rig Patrol is not the publisher or speaker of what users post, and we don't endorse any listing, seller, or buyer. We are a small team, and we may change, pause, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to create an account or complete a transaction through the Service.
You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep your login credentials secure. You're responsible for all activity under your account.
Tell us right away at info@rigpatrol.com if you think someone else has accessed your account. Don't share your login or let anyone else use your account.
One account per person. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Rig Patrol is for people in the United States and Canada. You are responsible for following the laws where you live and where you buy or sell.
You can delete your account yourself at any time from the My Account page. Deleting it permanently removes your listings and their photos.
By creating an account you agree to receive emails we need to send you, such as email confirmation, password resets, and messages about your listings (for example, that a listing was approved or needs changes). Email alerts for saved searches are optional and you can turn them off at any time in My Account.

4. Listings

You must own, or have the legal right to sell, any vehicle or item you list.
Listings must be accurate — honest photos, honest descriptions, honest pricing. Don't misrepresent a vehicle's condition, history, or modifications.
New listings are reviewed by a person before they appear on the site. We may approve, reject, or ask you to change a listing, and we may remove any listing, at any time, for any reason, including (but not limited to) inaccurate, prohibited, fraudulent, or duplicate listings. We aren't required to explain a decision, though we'll usually tell you why a listing needs changes.
Only upload photos you took or have the right to use. You're responsible for the content of your listings.
Keep your listings current. Mark a listing sold as soon as it sells; sold listings may remain visible, marked "Sold," for up to 60 days.
Using the Service to list anything is currently free. We may introduce optional paid features in the future (such as featured placement); if we do, we'll clearly disclose pricing before you're charged, and these Terms will be updated accordingly.

5. Seller Labels

Each listing shows whether the seller is a "Private Seller" or a "Business." The seller chooses that label, and we don't check it.

These labels are not a check of anyone's identity, ownership of a vehicle, licensing, insurance, or honesty, and they are not an endorsement or guarantee by Rig Patrol. Do your own checking before you pay anyone.

6. Buyer-to-Seller Contact

When a buyer contacts a seller through a listing, that message is delivered directly to the seller's email address — Rig Patrol does not store, read, or moderate the contents of these messages. From that point on, communication between buyer and seller happens outside the Service (typically by email), and is between those two parties alone. To prevent spam and abuse, we keep a short-lived record of who sent a message to which listing (not the message itself) and may limit how many messages can be sent.

Sellers' contact details are for talking about the listing. Don't use them, or the messages you receive, for unrelated marketing, spam, or to share them with others.

7. Your Conduct

You agree not to:

Post false, fraudulent, stolen, or misrepresented listings.
Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
Use the Service for spam, scraping, or any unlawful purpose.
Use bots, scripts, or other automated means to create accounts, post listings, or send messages, or create extra accounts to get around a limit we set.
Post a listing you don't intend to honor, or bid-up, test, or "shill" a price.
Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with the security or proper functioning of the Service.

8. Prohibited Listings and Content

You may not list, post, or promote any of the following, and we will remove it and may close the account:

Stolen vehicles or property, or anything you aren't legally entitled to sell.
Vehicles or parts with a missing, altered, or falsified VIN or serial number, or with a title you know to be fraudulent or that you can't legally transfer.
Items that are illegal to sell where you or the buyer are located, including counterfeit goods, and weapons or other regulated items.
Anything unrelated to adventure vehicles, campers, trailers, and gear, including real estate, services, and advertisements for other websites.
Listings that exist to collect deposits or personal or financial information, or that direct buyers to pay through a "protected" payment service, escrow, or shipping agent. Rig Patrol does not offer escrow or handle payments, and no one is authorized to do so on our behalf.
Photos or text copied from someone else, or content that infringes anyone's rights.

9. Transactions Are Between Users — Buy and Sell Safely

Because Rig Patrol doesn't inspect vehicles, verify sellers, or process payments, we strongly recommend that you:

Inspect any vehicle in person (or arrange a professional inspection) before paying anything.
Meet in a safe, public location when possible, and bring a friend if you can.
Use secure, traceable payment methods — never wire money or send payment for a vehicle you haven't seen, to a seller you haven't verified.
Get a bill of sale and confirm the title/registration is clean and matches the seller's identity.

Rig Patrol does not verify VINs, titles, odometer readings, liens, recalls, or a vehicle's history or safety. A VIN or other detail shown on a listing is entered by the seller. Check a vehicle's history and any open recalls yourself before you buy.

Rig Patrol is not responsible for losses arising from transactions between users, including but not limited to fraud, misrepresentation, or a vehicle's actual condition differing from its listing.

10. Dealers, Business Sellers, and Business Interest Forms

If you sell as a Business, you are responsible for following every law that applies to your business where you operate, which can include dealer licensing, sales tax, title and registration, odometer and warranty disclosures, and advertising and consumer-protection rules. We don't check licenses or compliance.

Some pages (Rentals, Conversion Companies, and Retailers) let a business tell us it is interested in being listed. Sending the form lets us contact you about Rig Patrol. It doesn't guarantee that any directory or feature will launch, or that your business will be listed. We don't endorse, inspect, or guarantee any business, and each business is responsible for what it says and does.

11. Taxes, Titles, and Moving Vehicles Between Places

Rig Patrol is intended for buyers and sellers in the United States and Canada. Sales tax, title transfer, registration, emissions rules, import and export rules, and anything that applies to moving a vehicle or trailer across a state, provincial, or national border are your responsibility. Find out what applies before you buy or sell.

12. Intellectual Property and Your Content

The Rig Patrol name, logo, and site design belong to us. Content you submit (listing photos, descriptions, etc.) remains yours — by posting it, you grant Rig Patrol a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute that content as needed to operate and promote the Service. You promise that you have the right to post it and that it doesn't break anyone's rights or any law. We aren't required to monitor content, but we may review, remove, or refuse any of it.

13. Reporting Listings and Takedown Requests

Every listing has a "Report this listing" link. You can also email info@rigpatrol.com to report a listing, a scam, or content that violates these Terms. We review reports and may remove content, suspend accounts, or take no action, at our discretion.

If you believe content on Rig Patrol infringes your copyright or other rights, email info@rigpatrol.com with: the work you say was copied; the link to the listing where it appears; your name and contact information; and a statement that you are the owner or are authorized to act for the owner, and that the information you're providing is accurate. We may remove the content and may close the accounts of users who repeatedly post infringing material.

We may share information about an account or listing with law enforcement or other authorities when we are legally required to, when we receive a valid legal request, or when we believe it is needed to protect someone's safety or to investigate fraud.

14. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service relies on outside providers, such as hosting, email delivery, maps, and bot protection, described in our Privacy Policy. A listing may also link to or show content hosted by others, such as a video. We don't control those services or sites, and we're not responsible for them or for what they do with your information.

15. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that listings are accurate, that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any vehicle listed is fit for any particular purpose.

Off-road driving, overlanding, towing, and camping carry real risks, and many vehicles, trailers, and items on Rig Patrol are used hard or have been modified. You are responsible for inspecting anything before you buy it and for using it safely and legally. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for injuries, damage, or losses that result from buying, selling, driving, towing, or using anything listed on the Service.

Some places don't allow certain warranty disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Your rights under local consumer law are not affected where they can't be waived.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rig Patrol and its owners/operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the Service or any transaction conducted between users — even if we've been advised of the possibility of such damages.

If a court finds that Rig Patrol is liable to you for any reason related to the Service, our total liability for all claims together will not be more than one hundred U.S. dollars ($100), or the amount you have paid us in the previous twelve months if that is more. Some places don't allow limits on certain damages, so these limits apply only as far as the law allows.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Rig Patrol harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your listings, or your transactions with other users.

18. Resolving Disputes

If you have a problem with the Service, please email info@rigpatrol.com first and give us 30 days to try to fix it. If we can't settle it, any legal action related to these Terms or the Service must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Sheridan County, Wyoming, and you and Rig Patrol agree to those courts. This does not apply to disputes between you and another user, which are between the two of you.

19. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to other users or to Rig Patrol, and we may remove any content you posted. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should continue (for example, the disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) survive termination.

20. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

21. General Terms

Agreeing electronically. Checking the agreement box, clicking a button, or using the Service counts as your agreement to these Terms. You agree to receive notices and other required communications from us electronically.
Whole agreement. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Rig Patrol about the Service.
If part is unenforceable. If a court finds part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest stays in effect.
No waiver. If we don't enforce something right away, we haven't given up the right to do so later.
Transfers. You can't transfer your account or rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours, for example if Rig Patrol is sold or reorganized.
Notices. We may give you notice by email at the address on your account or by posting on the Service. You can reach us at info@rigpatrol.com.
Events beyond our control. We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by things outside our reasonable control, such as outages of other providers, natural events, or attacks on the Service.

22. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, may also email you or post a notice on the Service. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
